Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé Collection

2010- ongoing

After Yves Saint Laurent's death, (1936 - 2008) the collection, consisting of 1889 lots, was auctioned in 2009
and set a world auction record for the most valuable private collection ever sold. The glamourous preview set
in the Palais Royal manifested the prestigious status of the collection, that contained everything imaginable
from an ancient greek amphore from 400 BC to a giant quarz crystal to the "Belle Helaine - Eau de voilette"
perfume by Marcel Duchamp.

Each painting in this series, begun in 2010, represents the real scale objects in this collection. and is the result of a
new pictorial research to get closer to the materiality of each object.
